12/9 Day 2 Cape Town

Woke up at like 4 am LOL .. went to bed at 11. I feel fine with the time change. I think the day in London helped me adjust.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY! We left early to head over to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner. I actually felt a little sea sick on the way over and back but got some air and thankfully didn't throw up.

The prison made me sad but it was so informational. Men couldn't be around any of their own kids until the child was 18, then they lowered the age to 16. That part made me very sad!

Murders & rapists had more privileges than the political Prisoners like Nelson Mandela. Just terrible living conditions 42 men sleeping on a had concrete floor with 2 thin blankets.. After they staged a no eating for a week several months later got bunk beds to sleep on. Our tour guide was an actual prisoner for 8 /18 years of his sentence.

On the way back from the Island Dolphins came playing behind the boat!!

When the tour ended we headed back and got some lunch (wings & fries) and hung out at the restaurant playing on our phones.

From there we headed to the coast to drive around the mountain heading to Cape Point. First we stopped in Simons Island to go to Seal Island but they were closed so we headed over to see the penguins at the beach. Omg they were so adorable, They'd walk right up next to you, We even walked together up the ramp!! LOL!! INCREDIBLE!!!

Then as we were driving along the coast I saw a bunch of seals out on a rock, Omg the coast is so beautiful-- Mountains on one side and Ocean on the other! I could totally live here!!!

We got to Cape Point & I saw this gorgeous light house on top of the mountain! At that moment I didn't know we were climbing all the way to the top to see it! LOL. But we did, in my sandles and everything, up, up, up,up, up we walked.

It was defiantly a challenge but I made it! I think if I'd had my tennis shoes on, my feet wouldn't have hurt so much on the way down!

Anyway, We get to the top and I see where the 2 oceans meet. there is an actual line that the waters make. It was so beautiful at the top! Just breath taking!  On the light house, someone had scribbled Friends Forever.. so I had to take a photo!!

We worked our way back down and began to drive when we found a congress of Baboons sitting on the side of the road, blocking traffic! LOL Two of them got on Vusi's jeep and was just playing around, so we're taking photos from the inside, then Vusi gets out and starts taking pics on the outside.. I was not that brave! LOL The little one was playing peek-a-boo with m, It was so awesome, totally made my day!! I was squealing!

I was very tired while we were driving, so I took a nap while Vusi drove. We drove back to Downtown Cape Town=- Where we had ate the night before. He dropped me off at the African Jewelry store where I spent WAY TO MUCH! (103.85) but I did get my Lions Tooth again that I needed to replace. Got the kids each an African necklace. I hadn't spent any money so I'm not really going to complain. - Clearly I got ripped off though!

Went to Dinner at Arnold's and we had Kudu, Wart Hog Riblets & Ostrich. Who knew Ostrich was red meat!?!?!  I asked the manager and he got me information about why! - very cool.. learned something new.

After dinner he took me over to where they had decorated for Christmas with the lights . It was only basically 3 blocks of decorations but they were pretty and even had CAPE TOWN in lights.

After that exhausting day I went to bed at like 10! LOL

12/8 Cape Town Day 1

December 8..we arrived at around 12:15 I went through custom & then I grabbed my bag.
My friend met me at the airport gave me a hug and he took my picture by the Cape town sign!! Holy crap!! I'm really here!!!!!!!

Went back to the house for awhile, we sat and visited on his patio for awhile, then I showered and off for sight seeing we went! He showed me different areas of Cape Town, then we went to Table Mountain to ride the sky lift to the top.

(Side note) When the plane descended low enough that I could see I was astounded by all of the mountains! They were so high they touched the clouds!! I couldn't believe it. I told my friend when I got off the plane how in love I was with the mountains!!!

So, we go to Table Mountain, which actually kinda reminds me of stone mountain, we rode the sky lift which circled in a 360 degrees so we could see everything as we went to the top! City live view of Cape Town

We get to the top & it's super chilly, probably 40 degrees!! We were so high we actually had clouds pass by out mouth! Lol we were literally eating clouds. We walked around for a bit, taking photos but seriously freezing so we decided it was time to come down off the mountain.... so then we drove over to a scenic point but the road was really congested so we left and headed to dinner. We went to a restaurant called Forks, they served 4 pieces of whatever on a plate & basically you share it  and order a bunch of plates to basically sample things and by the time you're done you're full... was a pretty cool concept.
Vusi's friend Advice met us there, so we all just hung out eating samples and chatting!
I tasted Kudu-- it was amazing! (like a large Gazell) and something else but I don't remember.

Great first day!! It's so beautiful here. I can't believe it! I'm in awe everywhere we turn!

Trip of a Life Time 1st Stop London

I cant believe December is here, typing from the plane!
I have been counting the days and 137 has actually passed so quickly.

First stop Charlotte NC for two hours then onto London!  I'm already tired so sleeping will not be any problem
Kids took me to the airport where it was emotional.  Poor Tyler was sobbing. Poor darling I'm going to miss them very much!
I went through security so my gate with no problem it was just a short 15 minutes late to Charlotte so I stayed awake once I got to Charlotte I ordered some shrimp rice and beans and now just waiting on the flight to London.
Didn't sleep very well on the flight over to London I have the opportunity to move seats and I didn't I will definitely do that it on the next flight if available.

When I arrived in London I went to custom and the guy convinced me to  go to Windsor castle and get on that you can go downtown to see Buckingham palace Westminster abbey and so I did.  So I went and checked the oyster cards then got on the underground tube basically a train road for about 45 minutes and arrived in London. Walked around bottom magnet and a key chain then found a coffee shop that have wifi and hung out there for a while texting the kids and Vusi. They served my coffee with a chocolate spoon!! LOL

Then just walked around and headed towards Buckingham Palace. It was cool, I took lots of photos.  There is gold everywhere on the gates.  Even got to see the guards marching back and forth.

I went on a tour of the queens gallery,  half of it was closed, so it was Kinda a disappointment. I thought it would be bigger but there was basically two big rooms. With a door dividing them into two rooms two sections.  Oh well ... still part of the palace.

Walked around and did some shopping at the palace! They had a Christmas tree decorated in crowns! It was gorgeous!!

While in the gift shop, I got a cute Christmas ornament with a guard bear and the girls mirrors and Tyler stickers and a pin.

Went walking down to Victoria & I did more shopping.  I walked all over then my feet were tired so I stated making my way back.  In the distance I saw the palace and the Ferris wheel.  Very pretty.

Got back to the airport and was I went through security in like 5 minutes.  Lol I was expecting it to take forever.  Smh so it's only 4pm and my flight doesn't leave till 9:35pm ughhhhhh thankfully the airport had free wifi so I could Facebook and text kids.
Funny story about this guy who works at the airport who was hitting on me.  He clearly thinks I'm stupid or maybe gullible. Lol seriously. . Ok I'll play along.  He leaves comes back then asks me to go walk around,  ok I've got plenty of time to kill why not. .we sit down and he's all like he wants  a relationship with me ..He's been looking for a white girl like me with my body type and I'm perfect. . Lol then says if things get good he'd happily move to the Us to be with me & he could still work at the airport. .. not sure why but I just listened lol crazy shit. He went back to work came back again bought me food and water then it was time for me to go to boarding for cape town so I didn't see him after that.
We boarded the plane at 8:45 and we can't take off due to a problem in the engine and it needs a new piece. So we sit and wait then they get it fixed and try to detach the plane from the walkway and its stuck. Lol thankfully we didn't have further problems and were able to take off.

89 days till I leave!

Today was day 1 intermittent fasting and I'm super excited that it really wasn't that difficulties.

Coffee early this morning then no food until 230 then I would set the kitchen timer for 90 minutes and the rule was no eating till the timer went off. Then I decided that I'd eat until 745 so there isn't all night binging going on. Lots of water today

I'm a little hungry right now but I'm going to sleep so I'm definitely not going to raid the kitchen.

Pictures from yesterday
